6000 students appear in screening test for CM’s Super-50 Coaching

Around 6000 students today appeared in the screening test for CM’s Super-50 Coaching being arranged by the Education Department.

According to Director School Education Kashmir, 3625 students with subject combination of   Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) appeared in the first shift of the screening test at various centres across the Kashmir valley.

DSEK said that 2218 students with subject combination of Physics, Chemistry and Math (PCM) appeared in the screening test in the second shift.

Giving details the DSEK said that 774 students appeared in the screening test in both PCB and PCM streams in Srinagar, 813 in Anantnag, 929 in Baramulla, 802 in Kupwara, 555 in Kulgam, 473 in Budgam, 507 in Pulwama, 405 in Bandipora, 328 in Ganderbal and 257 in Shopian.

He said students from various parts of Jammu region and Kargil and Leh districts also appeared in the screening test.

According to DSEK, on the basis of their performance in the screening test, 1200 students will be short-listed for coaching for CET, NEET, JEE and other competitive examinations at Srinagar centre while 50 students each will be shortlisted for coaching at district centres.

The results of the screening test will be announced on December 24 while as the registration of class work will start from December 26,” DSEK said.

Under the CM’s Super-50 Coaching programme launched by the Education Department last year on the initiative of the Minister for Education, Mr Naeem Akhtar last year free coaching is being provided to the students to prepare them for various competitive examinations.

Pertinently, several students from the CM’s Super-50 Coaching programme had last year qualified prestigious competitive examinations including JEE for admission to IITs.
