All the arrangements have been put in place for Independence day celebrations in Kashmir valley. The main thrust is being laid on security arrangements. Security forces has been put on alert in Kashmir valley in view of Independence day celebrations. Police and paramilitary police has been deployed in large numbers in sensitive areas of the city. Barricades have been erected at many places in the city . These barricades have are being manned by police and CRPF personnel. The vehicles moving towards main city are being thoroughly checked and people on board frisked. The authorities say that this step has been taken keeping in the apprehensions that militants may try to disturb peace in view of independence day. ” some people can disturb peace, so we have made all security arrangements, Keeping in view the militant acts in pulwama shopian and grenade attack at Srinagar , the security has been put on alert” divisional commissioner Kashmir Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon told journalists on the sidelines of full dress rehearsal.
