Deputy commissioner Doda, Mr Bhupinder Kumar has directed that in order to de congest traffic only one way traffic will be allowed in Doda town from February 15.
In a meeting convened here today it was decided that that there will be one way traffic on all the routes viz New Bus stand to Khan plaza via Tondwah, New Bus stand to Bharat and Bhagwah via Zam Zam Sweet Shop. The one way traffic restrictions for all types of vehicles except two wheeler will remain in force from 9:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m on the designated routes from 15th of this month. All types of heavy and mini goods carrying vehicles will be allowed only before 9:00 am and after sunset.
Stressing on creating awareness among all the stake holders about these traffic restrictions Deputy Commissioner Doda asked the Assistant Regional transport officer Doda Mr Azhar Amin Zargar and Deputy superintendent of traffic Doda Mohd Farooq Khan to take adequate steps to create awareness about the restriction through sign boards, hoarding, drum beating, social media and other means of communication
Calling it an effort to provide relief to traffic worries of the people DC appealed all the stake holders to cooperate with the administration in the effort to decongest traffic in the town.
Other issues including granting route permits to contract carriages and stage carriages were also discussed in the meeting.
SSP Doda, Mr Z.N Manhas and DIO Doda Mr Anoop Kumar were also present in the meeting.
