1488 cases settled during Lok Adalat held at Doda

For the speedy disposal of the cases of various nature in different courts across the District National Lok Adalats organized  by the District Legal Services Authority, Doda under the chairmanship of Sh. Sanjeev Gupta, Principal District & Sessions Judge Bhaderwah.

          Cases of different nature pertaining to various public services including Revenue, Electricity, Water Regulation Act, Motor Vehicle Act, MACT, Civil Suits, Bank Recovery, Pre-litigation and pending matters, Matrimonial, Criminal compoundable cases, cases under Section 488 Cr.PC, MGNREGA etc. were taken up for amicable settlement .

During the   Lok Adalat   1629 cases of different nature were taken up out of which 1488 cases were settled amicably in these Lok Adalats and an amount of Rs.2,29,12,566  was awarded/ recovered .

 The various cases which came before these lok Adalats  include  210 pre-litigation cases of different banks which were disposed off and an amount of Rs.1,04,42,201 was settled besides  14 pending cases were also disposed off and an amount of Rs.32,23,951 was settled for payment by the defaulters.

It also includes as many as 55 cases under MACT which were taken up out of which 33 cases were disposed off and an amount of Rs.74,82,000  was awarded to the beneficiaries. Under MGNREGA and SBM  56 cases were disposed off and an amount of Rs.6,78,319 was paid on spot to the beneficiaries.

Similarly 198 cases under Electricity and Water Regulation Act were disposed off  and an amount of Rs.5,87,945 was realized as fine besides an amount of Rs.1,81,150  was also realized as fine in Traffic challan, Labour and summary cases.

Further  58 Civil compoundable cases, 01 Land Acquisition Case and 14 civil cases were also disposed off in the Lok Adalats across the district.

Sub Divisional Magistrate Bhaderwah, Tehsildar Bhaderwah, SDPO, SHO Bhaderwah and Senior & Junior Advocates of Bar Association Bhaderwah and Doda and prominent citizens besides large number litigants were present in the day long proceedings.
