39 Aspiring entrepreneurs pass out from JKEDI Kishtwar

With an  aim  to provide entrepreneurial skills for sustainable livelihood to youth of Kishtwar  and to  facilitate their  access to finances, a  fresh batch of 39 aspiring entrepreneurs including three girls  passed out from Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI)  Kishtwar after completing the three-week Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP).

The batch comprising of young educated boys and girls were trained under self employment component of Himayat scheme, a path breaking initiative of Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India and implemented by JKEDI.

The EDP which started on 21 Dec 2015 at District Employment and Counseling Centre Kishtwar  was modeled for manufacturing and services sector and the aspiring entrepreneurs have chosen innovative activities to start their entrepreneurial journey.

As part of training program the participants hailing from different areas of Kishtwar were deputed for field visits and market survey as well.

Assistant Director Employment, Mohammad Ashraf Wani, interacted with the entrepreneurs and shared valuable experiences with them. He appreciated the efforts made by JKEDI team Kishtwar. Many candidates spoke on the occasion and were very enthusiastic on the completion of their training program. “The program was a part of the institute’s mission to foster entrepreneurial culture, wherein JKEDI is committed to provide both financial as well as non-financial assistance to the educated unemployed youth of the State” said AD Employment.

The EDI team Kishtwar also communicated the start of next training program under seed capital fund scheme/Youth Startup Loan scheme from 19th of Jan 2016 and the interview to be held on 16th Jan, 2016 at JKEDI District Center Kishtwar (DECC Building Near New DC Office Kishtwar.)
