5 killed 50 injured in bus accident

Bus accident on Doda-Dhara road

5 passengers were killed while 50 others got Injured when a bus they were traveling in fell into a deep gorge at Didwan area on Doda-Dhara road this afternoon.

    According to reports,  the bus bearing registration number JK02G-5723 was on its way from Doda to Dhara when reached at Didwan area ,driver lost control over it while giving pass to another vehicle coming from opposite side and Bus fell into 250 feet deep George resulting 5 person died on the spot while 50others got seriously Injured.

    Police and locals rushed to the spot and started rescue operation with the help of locals.

    They rescue all passengers from the ill-fated vehicle and shifted them to Distt Hospital Doda.

   The deceased persons have identified as Adibia 5 years d/o Mohd Shaki R/o Roti Padarna ,
Mohinder Singh 42 s/o Ghirdhari Lal R/o Bidwan, Mohd Shahid 27 s/0 Mohd Shabir Dev R/0 Zahind, Prithvi Raj s/o Bidya Lal R/o Dhara and Ghulam Hussain s/o Mohd Ramzan R/o Zahind.

  Ten of the injured were airlifted to GMC Jammu as the last reports came in.

Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, today expressed grief over the death of five persons in a bus accident in Doda district.

The tragedy occurred when the ill-fated vehicle rolled down a gorge near Dhara in the hilly district, which has experienced fatal accidents with sustained frequency in the past.   

In her condolence message, the Chief Minister conveyed her heart-felt sympathies to the bereaved families in their hour of grief and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls.

She also wished speedy recovery to those injured in the accident and directed the divisional administration to immediately air-lift the seriously injured to GMC Jammu for best-possible treatment.
