Protest in Baramulla over killing of Sikh woman

Protests have erupted in baramulla over killing of an elderly Sikh woman. Sikh Woman was attacked by some unidentified persons in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district  and she seccumbed on Tuesday morning, police said.

Kundar Kour, 55, was beaten and hit on the head by the attackers outside a Gurdwara in Sangri colony,Baramulla said a police official.

He said that the woman was immediately evacuated to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

Police has started the investigation in this matter.
It was not immediately known who the attackers were and what the motive of the assault was.

Earlier, an official said that the woman died after being attacked outside a gurdwara in Sangri village, 53 km north of summer capital Srinagar.

An official said that Kundar Kour, 55, was a widow and that her body was found in an abandoned Pandit house at Kanil Bagh area near mini secretariat.

It is believed that Kour was stabbed somewhere else and later her body was dumped here.
