Advisor interacts with Administrative Secretaries Directs for prioritizing essential issues

Advisor to the Governor, Mr. Khurshid Ahmed Ganai today urged officers to prioritize various issues related to their respective departments concerning public delivery so that they can be settled in a time bound manner. 

          The Advisor was interacting with officers at Civil Secretariat here today after assuming charge.  

          While interacting with the Secretary RDD, the Advisor while discussing the issues related to the Rural Development Department directing for prioritizing the sectors which need special attention, so that the benefit of various flagship schemes being undertaken in the sector reaches the targeted populace and they are also fast paced. He said that the department has a pivotal role in accelerating the development of rural and far-flung areas of the state, besides also elevating the socio-economic profile of the people living there by providing job opportunities to them. 

          Mr. Ganai while interacting with the Secretary Social Welfare Department discussed various issues related to the department and also the necessary amendments to be made in the Disabilities Act.

          The Advisor also discussed the issues related to the specially abled persons which include appointment of a full time Disability Commissioner, state trust for welfare of persons with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation and Multiple Disabilities Act. The provision of providing Assistive Aids for these persons including the provision of scooters in place of tricycles and also establishment of CRC at Jammu was also discussed. 

          The provision of setting up schools for specially abled children and providing medical aid/ treatment in government hospitals and private nursing homes was also discussed besides providing employment to specially disabled persons in rural areas. 

          While interacting with the Secretaries of Irrigation, Flood Control, Cooperatives and Labour and Employment, the Advisor asked them to prioritize the vital and important issues related to their departments so that they can be addressed in a time bound manner as they are very essential departments.
