Allotment of quarters at Pampore to be made ahead of Durbar move

Director Estates, Dr G N Itoo today visited various Estates colonies in and around Srinagar to take stock of the facilities there in run-up to the bi-annual Durbar move. 

He was accompanied by the Deputy Director Estates, Kashmir, Mr. Wasim Raja, Executive Engineer Estates Srinagar, Mr. Khurshid Ahmad Wani and other officials of the Estates Department.

During his visit to newly constructed Estates flats at Pampore, Dr Itoo asked the concerned to expedite the pending works and complete the same within fortnight so that the process of allotment of the quarters is undertaken well before the ensuing Durbar move. He also asked PHE Department and PDD to ensure supply clean drinking water and electricity to the quarters. 

The Director took on the spot review of the security measures for the newly constructed quarters including setting up of pickets and installation of concertina wires.  

The Director also visited Estates colonies at Tulsi Bagh and Budshah Bridge. 

During the visit the Director called for timely completion of repair/renovation work of the quarters and providing basic facilities to the allottees well ahead of the Durbar move. He also emphasized upon the concerned officers to ensure cleanliness in and around the colonies and rectify the problems related to drainage and seepage. He also called for immediate face-lifting and beautification of the parks within the colonies.  

The Director Estates ordered initiating eviction drive against illegal allottees so that the quarters become available for allotment to the deserving employees. 

Necessary instructions were also issued regarding conduct of auction of unserviceable items lying in various stores of the Estates Department.

Later, the Director chaired a meeting of the officers and officials of the Estates Department at the Civil Secretariat here to discuss the issues relating to preparedness for the ensuing Durbar.
