Bakhshi stadium Srinagar fortified ahead of Independence day

Heavy security deployment has been made around Bakhsi Stadium Srinagar, the venue for state level function for independence day celebrations. Both the roads around the stadium have been sealed. Barricades have been erected and the entry points of these roads and no vehicle is allowed to ply. Movement of people has also been restricted. any person if at allowed is duly frisked and then allowed to move. The step has been taken to avoid any disruption in the function. Such kind of unprecedented security grid the venue is being seen after a gap of couple of years. The vigil has been increased amidst the apprehensions that militants may try to disturb peace in the area. Chief minster Mufti Mohd sayeed is expected to unfurl the National flag at the venue and take salute at the parade. Meanwhile Restrictions were imposed in the areas under 6 police stations of Srinagar city to avoid any disturbance in law and order . Five police stations in the old city and Maisuma area. Heavy deployment of police personnel has been made in these areas and CRPF is assisting Police . Movement of people and vehicles has been restricted and  check points have been put in place at many points. Police had apprehensions that some elements may create problems mainly old city after Friday prayers .
