Chairman J&K Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali has constituted various Committees under different provisions of rules of procedure and conduct of Business in the Legislative Council along with nomination of Members of the Upper House to serve as Members of the Committees for a period of one year i.e. ending March, 2017.
As per the notifications issued by the Council Secretariat, the Petitions Committee has been constituted under the Chairmanship of S. Charanjit Singh along with Members, Qaiser Jamsheed Lone, Naresh Kumar Gupta, Dharambir Singh Oberoi, Javaid Ahmed Mirchal and Surinder Mohan Ambardar.
The Privileges Committee will be headed by Vikramaditya Singh and represented by Ajatshatru Singh, Ali Mohammad Dar, Dr. Shehnaz Ganai, Sham Lal Bhagat and Mohammad Khursheed Alam as members.
The Committee on Government Assurances will be headed by Sofi Yousuf along with Members, Ashok Khajuria, Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo, Master nor Hussain, Vikramaditya Singh and S. Charanjit Singh.
The Committee on Subordinate Legislation has been constituted under the Chairmanship of Showkat Hussain Ganai, whileas Ghulam Nabi Monga, Zafar Iqbal Manhas, Mrs. Rani Gargi Blowria, Yashpal Sharma, Ramesh Arora, Surinder Mohan Ambardar, Vikramaditya Singh and Yasir Reshi will serve members of the Committee.
The Ethics Committee will be headed by Firdous Ahmed Tak along with Ali Mohammad Dar, Bashir Ahmed Shah Veeri, Mohammad Muzaffar Paray, Surinder Kumar Choudhary and Vibodh Gupta as members.
The Rules Committee will be headed by Chairman, Haji Anayat Ali as ex-officio Chairman, whileas Ajat Shatru Singh, Dr. Bashir Ahmed Veeri, Qaiser Jamsheed Lone, G.N. Monga, Saif-ud-Din Bhat and Ramesh Arora will serve as Members in the Committee.
Similarly, the House Committee will also be headed by the Chairman himself, whileas Jugal Kishore, Showkat Hussain Ganai, Master Noor Hussain, Mrs. Rani Gargi Blowria, Yasir Reshi and Vikramaditya Singh will serve as members of the Committee.
Haji Anayat Ali will also head the Library Committee with Mohammad Muzaffar Parray, Yashpal Sharma, Dr. Shehnaz Ganai, Surinder Choudhary, Mohammad khursheed Alam, Charanjit Singh and Surinder Mohan Ambardar will serve as members of the Committee.
The General Purpose Committee will be headed by Chairman, Haji Anayat Ali, whereas Deputy Chairman, Jehangir Hussain Mir, Leader of the House, Syed Naeem Akhtar Andrabi, Ali Mohammad Dar, Naresh Kumar Gupta, Sajad Ahmad Kichloo, Jugal Kishore, Dharambir Singh Oberoi, Firdous Ahmed Tak, Sofi Yousuf and Vibodh Gupta will serve as Members of the Committee.
Mr. Mohammad Muuzaffar Paray will head the Environment Committee, whileas Jugal Kishore, Showkat Hussain Ganai, Qaiser Jamsheed Lone, Smt. Rani Gargi Blowria and Saif-ud-Din Bhat will serve as Members of the Committee.
The Department Related Standing Committee (I) on (Industries & Commerce, CAPD, Higher Education, Ladakh Affairs, Haj & Auqaf and Information Technology Departments) has been constituted under the Chairmanship of Ghulam Nabi Monga along with Ashok Khajuria, Ali Mohammad Dar, Sofi Yousuf and Javed Ahmed Mirchal as Members.
The Department Related Standing Committee (II) on Rural Development, Social Welfare, Revenue, Agriculture Production, Forest and Power Development Departments will be headed by Ramesh Arora along with Members including, Ajatshatru Singh, Dr. Bashir Ahmad Shah Veeri, Mohammad Khursheed Alam, Yasir Reshi and Firdous Ahmed Tak.
Similarly, the Department Related Standing Committee (III) on the departments of Education, PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, R&B, Estates, Hospitality & Protocol and Cooperative will he headed by Dr. Bashir Ahmed Veeri. The other Members of the Committee are, Jugal Kishore Sharma, S. Dharambir Singh Oberoi, Sham lal Bhagat and Saif-ud-Din Bhat.
The Department Related Standing Committee (IV) on Health & Medical Education, Home, Transport, Horticulture & Tourism Departments will be headed by Zafar Iqbal Manhas along with Members, Dr. Shehnaz Ganai, yashpal Sharma, Smt. Rani Gargi Blowria and Surinder Kumar Choudhary.
Besides, the Chairman has also nominated the Members to associate with the Financial Committees of the J&K Legislative Assembly for the period ending 31stMarch, 2017.
As per the notification of the Council Secretariat, Mr. Qaiser Jamsheed Lone and Mr. Mohammad Khursheed Alam have been nominated to be associated with Public Accounts Committee. Mr. Naresh Kumar Gupta and Mr. Vibodh Gupta have been nominated for Public Undertaking Committee, whereas Mr. Yasir Reshi and Mr. Surinder Mohan Ambardar have been inducted in Estimates Committee to serve as Members.
