DC Srinagar releases Rs 1.50 crore for Eidgah area

Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone on Tuesday released Rs 1.50 crore for the development of Eidgah area.

The Deputy Commissioner after visiting different areas of the constituency took stock of the damages caused due to fire incident in which several houses were gutted.

The DC along with several other officials today also held a meeting with MLA Eidgah Mubarak Gul in which several development projects slated for execution in the area were discussed threadbare and development priorities were also fixed.

Dr Lone informed that assessment of the losses in fire incidents has been carried out and report in this regard has been submitted for rehabilitation and relief to the affected families,” he said.

Dr Lone informed that they have prepared a relief package for the fire victims in which family would be given Rs 1.5 Lakh for each gutted structure. He also informed that the Red Cross has already provided Rs 2000 to the fire victims.

Expressing sorrow over the loss of property in the tragic fire incident at Urdu Bazaar, Mujahid Manzil, MLA, Eidgah, Mubarak Gul urged Deputy Commissioner Srinagar to take prompt action in their rehabilitation.

 “I have announced Rs 50000 to each affected family from my CDF,” Gul said.  He also appealed people of the area to cooperate with the agencies in executing developmental projects.
