Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone on Saturday convened a meeting to review the arrangements and preparedness made by different departments in wake of incessant rainfall .
The meeting was attended by Joint Commissioner SMC, Superintending Engineers of PWD, UEED, Drainage, SMC, PHE Srinagar, PDD, Joint Director Fire and Emergency Services, Kashmir, and Executive Engineer, I&FC.
The DC directed the officers to ensure that people will have power supply as per the schedule. He directed the SMC officials to install additional dewatering pumps to drain out logged rain water from the city streets so that people do not face any problem.
While directing the SMC officials to clear the drains, the DC appealed the people to avoid the use of banned polythene as it leads to the chocking of drains which results in water-logging.
Meanwhile, The Deputy Commissioner directed the officials of essential services departments to remain present in the offices on Sunday.
