DDC flags off bikers rally

To generate awareness among the common masses about the importance of traffic rules and regulations, a bikers rally  on the topic of “ROAD SAFETY- TIME FOR ACTION” in connection with 27th road safety week 2016 celebration, was organized by the Motor vehicle Department  Reasi in collaboration with Traffic  Police and J&K police,  here today.

        The rally was flagged off by the District Development Commissioner Reasi, Sushma Chauhan.

        While speaking on the occasion, the DDC urged upon the participants to abide by the traffic rules, avoid rash driving, use helmets while driving and cooperate with the administration for regulating traffic and ensuring better services to the people in the district. She called upon the general public to come forward and spread the message of obeying traffic rules among the commuters.  She stressed upon the transporters and the civil society to cooperate with the traffic police and Motor Vehicles Department in ensuring better transport services in the district.

        The Bikers rally was taken out from Sports stadium Reasi, which after passing through the main chowks of the market, finally culminated at DC office, Reasi. About 80 bikers participated in the rally.

        Earlier, Officers and participants took an oath to follow traffic rules and regulations in the district.

        Among others, SSP Reasi Sujit Kumar, ADC Shiv Kumar Gupta, ASP  Sanjay Rana, DSP Traffic  Tilak Raj, ARTO Reasi Pawan Sharma, Inspector MVD Vikas, DTI Traffic Bansi lal Manhas, officers of Army, CRPF, transporters and prominent citizens were also present on the occasion.
