DDC takes stock of people’s problems in Paddar

District Development Commissioner Kishtwar, Mr. Ghulam Nabi Balwan   convened a public meet at Padder and took stock of the problems of the people.

Responding to the issues projected by the people, DDC said that under the Phase II of RGGVY and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) the un-electrified habitations of the area will be benefited soon. He also informed that a 33KV power line will be soon linked with Gulbagarh power station which is non functional in absence of sufficient voltage supply.

DDC said that the water reservoirs along with water supplying pipes that were damaged during construction of roads in these areas will be restoration the earliest. He also informed that water supply scheme for village Liye will be restored within 15 days.

 Locals also apprised the DDC about the issues pertaining to insufficient medical staff at Gulabgarh and Sub centre Ungai and lack of essential medicines in the Government Health institutions. Chief medical officer informed the DDC that two lady doctors have been posted in Paddar besides the medicines will be made available in the institutions in a week’s time.

 People also demanded construction of new ponds along with restoration of old ponds for housing the fish culture for which instructions were issued to the AD fisheries for immediate action.

While reviewing the progress made on the important Machail-Paddar road, and Atholi –Gulabgarh road along with bridges the concerned executing agencies were asked to expedite the works to ensure their timebound completion.

DDC directed BDO Paddar to rationalize the IAY claims after proper verifications on the ground. He also stressed on conducting the Gram sabhas and preparing the MGNREGA Plan in consultations with the members of panchayat.

Speaking on Aadhar enrolment, DDC said that the District administration has chalked out a 12 days programme from February 15 to 26 during which a special vehicle equipped with the necessary machines will tour the entire district.

CPO Dr. Yasir Balwan, ACD Akhtar Hussain Qazi, XeN PDD and other concerned officers accompanied DDC during the tour.
