Mr. C. Rajasekhar, Director General Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), called on Governor N.N. Vohra, here at the Raj Bhavan today.
Mr. Rajasekhar briefed the Governor about the three day (25-27 October) International Seminar on “Sufi Rishi Traditions of Kashmir” which is being held in Srinagar. This event is being organized by ICCR in collaboration with the University of Kashmir and the Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages. About 20 scholars from abroad and across the country are participating in this Symposium.
The Governor and the DG also discussed ICCR’s tentative planning in regard to future programmes for the exposition of J&K’s art, culture, and traditions and the efforts which are presently underway, under the aegis of the Regional Director ICCR (located at Srinagar) to encourage and enable various local cultural and educational organizations to showcase their talent to the outside world.
