Legendary actor, Dilip Kumar, was bestowed with the Padma Vibhushan on Sunday, December 13, 2015, for his contribution towards Indian cinema. It is the second highest civilian honor.
The actor, whose real name is Mohammad Yusuf Khan, was supposed to receive the honor at the Rashtrapati Bhavan earlier this year. But due to his health condition, India’s Home Minister Rajnath Singh did the honors at his residence in Mumbai.
Dilip Kumar had celebrated his 93rd birthday on December 11, 2015.
Rajnath Singh was accompanied by the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, and the Governor of Maharashtra, Vidyasagar Rao. Kumar’s wife actress Saira Banu was also present.
