Div Com reviews law and order situation, supply position

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr Asghar Hassan Samoon convened a video conference to review the law & order and functioning of essential services in Kashmir with HODs /Deputy Commissioners and other district officers.

Divisional Commissioner was informed that all essential commodities and services are available in all districts. IGP Traffic informed that 1000 truckloads of essential commodities moved from Jammu to valley last night. Director SKIMS/PMC Srinagar/Director Health Services Kashmir informed that adequate health care facilities are being provided to injured during recent turmoil at all hospitals across the valley. They were directed to ensure round the clock availability of ambulances to all the injured.

All Deputy Commissioners were asked to ensure round the clock vigil and deployment of zonel/local magistrates at police Thanans/Posts and vulnerable spots. Officials of essential services have reported for duties in all districts but Deputy Commissioner Kupwara informed that Ex. Engineers of essential services like PDD, PHE besides R&B have not reported and was directed to initiate disciplinary action against them as per law. Deputy Commissioners were directed to involve community in maintaining peace and prevent mobs from indulging in damages to public property. SMC/Director Local Bodies were directed to ensure proper sanitation in city/towns. The electricity   and water supply services are adequately provided to the people.

The Divisional Administration is closely monitoring the day to day situation and adequate measures are being taken to maintain peace and normalcy.
