Div. Com reviews stock, supply position in Ladakh region

Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon convened officers meeting

Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon today convened an officers’ meeting to review the stock and supply of food grains and other essential commodities to Ladakh region.

The Divisional Commissioner was informed that about 47% of supplies have already been stocked in Leh and Kargil districts till date.

            The Divisional Commissioner stressed upon the concerned officers to ensure that 100% supplies be dumped in the region till ending August.

            While briefing the Div. Com about the supply position, it was given out that sufficient stock of Rice, Wheat and Sugar has been stocked in the region.

Reviewing the supply position of sugar, the Div. Com gave instructions to carry the supplies direct to granaries in Leh and Kargil to facilitate the local people. Fire wood and hard coke supply was also reviewed in the meeting.

The Divisional Commissioner was also briefed about the supply of LPG, Petrol, Diesel besides steel, cement, cattle feed and other requirements of the region.

The Divisional Commissioner also got appraisal from District Development Commissioners of Leh and Kargil through video conference who expressed satisfaction over the smooth supplies in the region.

Among others who attended the meeting were Secretary Ladakh Affairs, Directors of CAPD, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Agriculture, Health, Horticulture, Chief Engineer R&B, Chief Conservator Forests, Registrar Cooperative Societies and other officers.
