Encounter took place between militants and security forces in Manigak village in Kupwara Dustrict.One army officer lost his life in the and two others were injured.Martyred officer has been identified as Colonel Santosh Mahadik who was commanding officer of 41 Rashtriya Rifles.
According to reports four militants of Lashkar-e-Toiba outfit are holed up in the area.
