Govt committed for dev of backward Classes, says Nirmal Singh

Describing as historic the steps taken by the Prime Minister for ensuring development of villages and Rural areas, the Deputy Chief Minsiter, Dr, Nirmal Singh today said that the initiatives taken would ensure that the people living there would get all the requisite and modern facilities bringing them at par with the urban areas within next few years.

          The Deputy Chief Minster was addressing a huge gathering at Kakra, Bilawar in distrtict Kathua in connection with the celebration of Rashtriya Pancharyati Raj Divas under Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyaan , the programme inaugurated by the Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi on 14th April, from Mohua, Madhya Pardesh on eve of the birth anniversary of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar.

          Among others, senior officers of concerned departments, Sarpanchs, Panchs, prominent citizens, besides a large number of local people were also present on the occasion.

While spelling out the several initiatives being taken for holistic development of the villages and improving the lot of the people living there, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the recently announced Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bhima Yojna would ensure that the farmers would get the requisite compensation in case of failure of the crops due to various reasons. He said that the people should come forward and ensure that they get benefited from it.

          Dr. Singh said as a part of ensuring that the rural people get the requisite facilities the schemes of providing 5 crore free LPG Gas connection would be made available throughout the country, which would ensure that the health problems of the rural women which they face on account of burning wood and coal during their daily chores would be redressed. He said that an amount of Rs 80 lakh has also been earmarked for panchayat for undertaking developmental works.

The Deputy Chief Minister along with Panchs, Sarpanchs, prominent persons and people watched the live telecast of the Prime Minister’s Speech on the eve of the concluding day of the Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyaan being telecasted from Jharkhand.

          Later, the Deputy Chief Minister convened a public darbar at Kakra in which people from areas of the district put forth their demands and issues being faced by them.

          Dr. Singh directed the officers present on the occasion and ensure that these are redressed within the shortest possible time. He said that a close liaison should be established with the people for need based and proper implementation of various programmes so that holistic development of the areas is ensured.

          Earlier, the Deputy Chief Minister attended the convention of All India Backward Classes Union at Vijaypur.

The Minister for Industries and Commerce, Mr. Chander Prakash Ganga, President, All India Backward Classes Union, Mr Abdul Majid Malik, General Secretary, Prof. Kali Das and senior officers, prominent citizens were also present on the occasion.

Deputy Chief Minister while addressing the huge gathering said that government is committed for ensuring the development of the backward classes in the state and in this regard several flagship programmes and schemes have been launched by which would ensure elevation of their socio-economic profile, besides provide requisite employment opportunities to them.

Responding to the demands put forth, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the government has already initiated the steps for constitution of Advisory Board for OBCs. He said that besides this several other initiatives have also been undertaking.

Spelling out the broad parameters of the coalition governments resolve to accelerate the pace of developmental programmes in the state, Dr. Singh said that equitable development is being ensured and instructions already stands passed for ensuring the time bound completion of them. He said that the several historical decisions and developmental initiatives have been taken which would ensure that the state comes up as one of the most developed ones of the country in near future.
