Govt committed to redress people grievances: Priya Tours old city area

Minister of State for Information, Culture and Education Priya Sethi toured old city Jammu

To have first hand assessment of people’s grievances, Minister of State for Information, Culture and Education Priya Sethi toured old city area and listened to the problems being faced by the residents.

Senior leader Yudhvir Sethi was also present during the tour of the Mohalla Partap Garh and adjoining areas of JMC Ward Number 15.

The people of the area had represented to the Minister about poor condition of the lanes, drains, and sanitation.

Addressing the gathering, Priya said the coalition government is committed to address the development aspirations of the people and all out efforts are afoot to redress the grievances faced by the people. She said that the central government is providing liberal funding to the state for its overall development and mega infrastructure projects have been initiated in the state.

She issued on spot instructions to the JMC for immediate sanitation drive in the area and also directed the concerned officers to prepare project for lane, drain and related works in the area.

Appreciating the union government for its active support, Yudhvir said that the recent package of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi would go a long way in ensuring all round progress and development in the state and the aspirations people have with the present dispensation would be fulfilled.

He said special focus is being given to upgrade urban facilities in the winter capital city and long pending demands of city people with regard to Ropeway project, Tawi Bank up gradation, Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex works, Multi level parking in city and other such projects have been kick started in less than 10 months of the present regime.

Prominent among those who were present during the tour include, Ashwani Gupta Pradhan Mohalla Welfare Committee, Surinder Kour, Gulshan Mahajan Ex-Corporater, Anju dogra, Savita, Saroj , Rajesh Dogra Chaju , Anil Masoom and Arun Sethi.
