Govt fixes meat rate at Rs 400 per Kg

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon, today convened an officers meeting to fix price of various essential commodities especially mutton.

          Deputy Commissioners of Kashmir Division attended the meet via video conferencing. The meeting was also attended Director CA&PD Kashmir, representatives of Meat Wholesale Dealers, Traders Manufacturers, besides concerned officers were also present in the meeting.

         During the meeting threadbare discussion was held on ways to ensure price control of essentials of life. It was given out that the rate of mutton without Ujri has been fixed at Rs 400 per Kg.

        The rate was fixed on the basis of suggestions obtained from Meat dealers and other concerned officers.

        On the occasion, the Divisional Commissioner stressed upon all the DCs to intensify the market checking in their respective jurisdictions. The Tehsildars, SHOs and officers of CA&PD were also directed for conducting regular market checking.

          The meeting was informed that strict action would be taken against traders found resorting to over-charging and hoarding.
