At least three army jawans sustained minor splinter injuries and four vehicles suffered damage after militants on Wednesday afternoon hurled a grenade towards army bunker in frontier district of Kupwara in north Kashmir.
Official sources said that the suspected militants hurled the grenade towards office of the army’s Town Commander in the town in the afternoon. “The grenade, exploded near the army bunker resulting in injuries to three soldiers of 41 RR.
“Four vehicles have also suffered damage during the incident”, they said.
Witnesses said panic gripped in the area soon after the attack with people running towards safer places.
Meanwhile, SOG, army and police cordoned off the whole area and launched search operation to nab the attackers.
