After a prolonged and unusual dry spell remote and high altitude areas of distt Kishtwar witnessed considerable snowfall on Sunday whereas low lying rural areas and Kishtwar township were lashed by rains. Rain and snowfall has come as a huge relief to the general public of this mountainous district. Farmer community is especially happy as the rains augur well for the coming cultivation season. After such a prolonged dry spell which had given way to diseases and sickness especially among youth, the rains have come as a welcome relief. It minimises the risk of disease epidemic breakout due to unusual dry season.
