A militant belonging to terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen has been arrested in Qazigund in Anantnag District.Police has claimed that the said militant was involved in killing of two civilians.He has been identified as Imtiyaz Ahmed dar, resident of Shopian.
On a specific information Anantnag police and 1st-RR arrested a Hizbul Mujahideen militant Imtiyaz Ahmad Dar @ Hafiz son of Abdul Khaliq resident of Pahnou, Shopian from Qazigund, Anantnag.
During the investigation it came to fore that he alongwith two other militants was involved in the killing of Javid Ahmad Sofi @ Javid Waza son of Mohammed Ismail resident of Bijbehara and Reyaz Ahmad Khan son of Ali Mohammad Khan resident of Karawa Malnoo, Shopian.
Javaid was killed by militants on 22-03-2015 at New Colony Bijbehara while as Riyaz Ahmad Khan on 25th of October 2014. The said militant was also involved in an attack on guard post at Court Complex in District Shopian in which a policeman was injured.
He was also involved in a firing incident in Awantipora.The said militant had joined HM in September 2014.
His role in recent grenade attacks in the district is being asertained.He is also involved in firing on joint security forces party in Kawni.
