Holistic development of children should be focus of the Education system: Akhtar

“Holistic development of the children should be the focus of education system   ,and efforts should be made to nurture their  talent in positive direction, exhorted the  Minister for Education Mr Naeem Akhtar  while interacting with the teachers during his visit to various educational institutions in Srinagar today.

“Our younger generation is immensely talented but they need your hand holding and proper guidance to  explore their potentials and move in the right direction to achieve their goals” stressed the Minister .

During his visit to the Government High School, Hyderpora where a tuition centre has been set up by the Department of Education under the CM’s Super-50 initiative, Mr Akhtar directed the department to organise multiple sessions to ensure effective utilisation of available resources and students are optimally benefited. He asked the teachers to adopt new demonstrative methods of teaching which simplify the process of teaching and make learning interesting for the students.

Mr Akhtar also asked the Department of School Education to involve academicians and retired teachers as guest faculty in CMs Super 50 tuition centres to strengthen the initiative and provide quality coaching facility to the students.

          The Minister later visited DIET, Srinagar where he directed for starting training sessions for the teachers to acquit them with the  latest and innovative teaching methodologies .He said  such orientation programmes are important for improving the necessary skill of the available human resource .He also directed the administration to upgrade the existing library.

          The Minister also visited State Institute of Education where he interacted with the staff and directed the management to conduct an academic audit of the institute, Mr Akhtar asked them to seek assistance from the resource persons of Pratham Foundation for providing training in new improved methods of teaching.
