Issues related to public importance raised in the Legislative Assembly

Several issues relating to the public importance were raised in the Legislative Assembly during Zero Hour by the members.

Mr. Mohammad Yousuf Bhat raised the issue of providing pure drinking water in Shopian constituency. He also demanded augmentation of power infrastructure in the constituency. The issue of shortage of doctors in Sub-District Hospital Shopian was also raised by the legislator.

Mr. Dalip Parihar demanded six months free ration to the farmers of Bhaderwah constituency whose crops have been destroyed due to the recent cloudburst in the area. He also asked for undertaking the work on the sanctioned Water Supply Schemes in the Constituency besides connecting the Chilly village with the mainland. 

Mr. Mohammad Khalil Bandh demanded that work on the Water Supply Schemes in Pulwama Constituency be undertaken and same be completed within the stipulated time. He also demanded early release of funds for the same.

Mr. G. M. Saroori referred to the worsening security scenario in the State and demanded a package for the people living in the areas adjacent to the LoC and also for West Pakistan Refugees.

Mir Zahoor Ahmad demanded immediate dewatering of inundated Pampore villages and called for installation of new Water Pumps for the same.

Mr. Kuldeep Raj demanded reservation for the people living on the International Border on the same pattern as is being provided to those living on LoC.

Mr. Sat Paul Sharma demanded increase in the compensation to the tune of Rs 5 lakh for the victims of cross-border firing. He also demanded that persons suffering permanent disability be also provided Rs 5 lakh, injured be provided Rs 1 lakh whereas Rs 5 lakh be provided to the persons whose houses get damaged.

Mr. M. Y. Tarigami demanded a debate in the House on the unemployment issue.

Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad Shah demanded brining areas of Tral constituency including Doodmarg, Nagibaran and Shikargah on the tourist map and creating the requisite infra for the purpose.

Mr. Mohammad Amin Bhat and Mr. Noor Mohammad Sheikh demanded providing adequate drinking water facilities and augmentation of PHE sector in Devsar and Batamaloo constituencies respectively.

Mr. Shakti Raj Parihar demanded a debate in the House on the unemployment issue. He also called for the fast-pacing of work on Sudmahadeve Tunnel which has not been allotted so far.

Hakeem Mohammad Yasin called for framing a mechanism for ensuring time bound distribution of Ration Cards in his Constituency. 

Mr. Neelam Kumar Langeh demanded for augmenting the District Hospital Ramban with the requisite facilities. He also called for providing requisite staff to the Government Degree College Ramban and undertaking the work on various roads in his Constituency. Mr. Langeh also demanded that the Government infra damaged due to the recent cloudburst be also restored. 

Engineer Abdul Rashid demanded for establishing IIT, IIM and AIIMS in the Kashmir provinces as well.

Choudhary Mohammad Akram called for providing requisite staff for the Sub District Hospital Surankote.

Mr. Mohammad Abass Wani called for a change in mechanism for identification of rationees in Gulmarg Constituency. 

Mr. Ravinder Raina called for undertaking upgradation of the transformers provided to his Constituency under RGGVY and also establishment of a electric workshop in Nowshera as announced by the Chief Minister in the recent District Development Board Meeting.
