J&K minister rejects Sartaj Aziz comment on JK Assembly

Minister for Education Nayeem Akhtar

A day after Sartaj Aziz ,  Advisor to Pakistan Prime minster Nawaz Sharief said that Pakistan wont invite JK Assembly speaker to upcoming Commonwealth parliamentarian conference to be held in Islamabad from Sept.30 to Oct 08 because Pakistan doesn’t recognize J&K Assembly, J&K Govt has strongly reacted to the statement. Minister for education J&K, Nayeem Akhter said that the Govt categorically disapproves the comment of Sartaj Aziz ” Our Assembly is a democratically elected body of J&K. Other people also talk about Kashmir ,  but as of now , they only represent an idea , they have  point of view but We have a democratically elected character” Akhter told reporters on the sidelines of a function at Srinagar. He said that the representatives to state assembly have been elected by 80% voters so the comment of Sartaj Aziz isn’t acceptable at all. Nayeem Akhter said that such comments aren’t in favor of both the neighboring countries. Notably there has been wide condemnation of Pakistan’s decision  at the National level for not sending an invite to J&K assembly speaker Kavinder Gupta to the conference.
