The team of Legal Metrology Department under the supervision of Assistant Controller conducted extensive market inspections in various areas of the district today.
During the checking 20 erring traders were booked for violating the provisions of J&K standards of weight and measures (Enforcement Amendment) Act, 2011 and a fine of Rs. 24,600 was imposed upon them.
Assistant controller Legal metrology also issued warning to the dealers against involvement in anti-consumer trade practices.
