Meeting organized in Kishtwar for better coordination among the citizens and administration

Minister for Social Welfare, Forests, Ecology and Environment, Mr Bali Bhagat today convened a meeting of prominent citizens social activists, heads of political parties, business establishments, Bar Associations, Transport Union, Trade Union and Representatives of Sanatan Dharam Sabha and Aquaf in conference hall DC office complex Kishtwar.

The informal meeting was organized for better coordination among the citizens and administration on various issues and to ensure social and communal harmony in the district.

 Minister of State for PWD (R&B) and Revenue, Mr Sunil Kumar Sharma, MLA   Inderwal, G.M Saroori, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Mr. G.N Balwan, SSP Kishtwar Mr Sandeep Wazir,CPO  Kishtwar Dr. Yasir Balwan  and  other senior officers of district administration participated in the meeting.

Various issues were highlighted by the participants including  establishment of Saffron Lab in Kishtwar, augmentation of water supply and strengthening of  water distribution system, overloading in commercial vehicles, fire wood shortage, widening ,beautification and macadamization of Mali path to Dak Bunglow  road, pending pension cases with the social welfare department, parking facility for vehicles, non functional urinals at General Bus stand Kishtwar, Shortage of Kerosene oil in the Town, airlifting facility in case of medical emergency,  shifting of court complex to old DC Office Complex, beautification of Chowgan ground, repairs of building of Boys higher secondary School Kishtwar, opening of PHC at Pochal, dumping of ration and medicines in the snow bound areas of Marwah, Warwan and Paddar and issuance of electricity bills as per the  consumption rate.

Responding to their demands, Mr Bali Bhagat said that two water lifting schemes of Kishtwar are not fully functional and necessary instructions will be issued to PHE department for augmentation of the supply from its current level.

He also announced that Gamma unit of Forest Protection unit will be inaugurated within a day besides a State Level Forest training institute will be very soon started in Kishtwar.  He also announced that among the various Districts of the state, Kishtwar District has been chosen as one of these for the implementation of ambitious Ladli Beti scheme which will be inaugurated on 15th November from TRC Kishtwar.
