Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Thursday, extended greetings to the people on Christmas and hoped that the holy occasion would be a harbinger of peace, harmony, progress and prosperity for the state.
In his message, Mufti Sayeed said the essence of celebrating Holy Christmas lies in strengthening the values of compassion and love towards mankind. “Christmas marks the birth of Jesus Christ and rekindles the spirit of peace and harmony. Let us resolve to promote unity and lead a true and virtuous life,” he exhorted.
Member Parliament and PDP President, Mehbooba Mufti, today greeted people a merry Christmas and hoped that the auspicious occasion would be a harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity for the state.
In her message, Mehbooba Mufti urged people to apply the divine teachings of Hazrat Eisa (AS), which will lead us towards becoming a just and compassionate society. “I pray that the birthday of Jesus Christ would strengthen the bonds of communal harmony, brotherhood and amity, which are the hallmark of J&K’s unique pluralistic traditions,” she added.
