Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Wednesday, extended greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW), to be observedon Thursday.
In his message, Mufti Sayeed described Islam as the religion of peace and Prophet Mohammad (SAW) as an apostle of love, affection and brotherhood. “Almighty Allah had sent Prophet Mohammad (SAW) as Rehmatal-lil-Alimeen (mercy to the mankind),” he added.
Reminding people of the holy Prophet’s (SAW) teachings, the Chief Minister said the holy Prophet (SAW) had tremendous love for humanity in general and compassion for poor and needy in particular. “I pray to Almighty Allah to reignite our heart and souls with the love of the Prophet (SAW) of Islam,” he added.
Member Parliament and PDP President, Mehbooba Mufti, today extended greetings to the people on Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW). She hoped that the auspicious occasion would be the harbinger of harmony and prosperity in the state.
In her message, Mehbooba described the teachings of the Prophet (SAW) of Islam as a guide for all of mankind towards the path of righteousness. She said the birthday of the Holy Prophet Mohammad (SAW) provide us an opportunity to seek forgiveness and blessings from the Almighty Allah.
“The need for inculcating the virtues of humility, peace, love and compassion, as taught by our beloved Prophet (SAW) are more relevant today than ever before,” she added.
