Minister for Transport, Abdul Gani Kohli conducted an extensive 3-day tour of Rajouri and took stock of the development works started in various areas of the district.
During the tour, the Minister inspected various ongoing developmental projects, convened public grievance camps and held discussions with citizens at various places.
The Minister along with senior officers of district administration inspected state land retrieved from the encroachers at village Dalogra. He gave on spot directions for immediately demolishing a wall being constructed by a local contractor on government land near the village.
The Minister asked the officers to work in coordination to retrieve more land encroached upon by unscrupulous persons in the area, which, in turn, can be used for creating sustainable and viable assets for coming generations. He instructed the district administration to remove bottlenecks, if any, immediately and get the land at different places retrieved from the encroachers.
While inspecting various developmental works, apace in the district the Minister said that government is committed to develop far-flung and neglected areas of Jammu and Kashmir with liberal funding from the centre. He said a new era of development and prosperity has begun in the state and the results are already visible.
Mr. Kohli asked the concerned field officers to work with utmost zeal and zest to achieve the developmental targets fixed for current fiscal in the area in a time bound manner.
Interacting with the people at various places the Minister said that roads are vital for development of any area and stressed that a well knit plan has been envisaged to improve road link in all the far flung areas. He said that government is aware of the problems of the people and all efforts are being made to improve infrastructural facilities for better amenities to the people.
