A team of engineers and officials of ETI consortium, a Government of New Zealand affiliate today met the District Development Commissioner Anantnag Mr. Muneer ul Islam here to work out the modalities for developing Village Bragam of Dooru under the Model Village concept.
The DDC while reviewing the details of the pilot project said that Bragam is among the two fortunate villages in the Kashmir region that has been identified for development under the Model village concept of the Government of New Zealand affiliated ETI Consortium, which aims at not only improving the basic infrastructure in the village but will also provide livelihood opportunities to the families of the village.
The DDC further said that to make the families of the village self-sustainable, the consortium will provide livelihood opportunities to the families and can help them earn Rs 5000-10000 per month.
He appreciated the efforts of New Zealand High Commission and ETI Dynamics for selecting rural areas of the district under the developmental programme and asked the organization to take up more villages in the district in future.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Anantnag Muhammad Younis Malik, ACR Anantnag, ACD Anantnag, surveyors and engineers of ETI Consortium besides district officers of other line departments.
