Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari on Monday suspended 21 officials including officers of Muncipal Committee Ganderbal for unauthorized absence from duty. The action against these employees was taken following a surprise inspection by ADC to the office of Municipal Committee, Ganderbal today. The ADC directed the Executive Officer, Municipal Committee, Ganderbal, to ensure full attendance in his office so that the common masses do not face any inconvenience. He said regularity of all employees is a must to address public grievances promptly.
Police detain non resident Kashmiri doctor for alleged militant links
A Non-Resident Kashmiri (NRK) doctor was detained by JK Police with his relatives on way to Srinagar airport on Sunday for alleged militant links, the police officials said.The officials said Dr Shahid Ahmad Baba from Budgam’s Chadoora village settled in United Kingdom is being interrogated at the moment for his alleged links with a “militant module” in the valley and a hawala transaction.
House owner locked the rented primary school due to non payment of rent from last thee years in Bandipora

Cloud burst has become a daily riutine in in Kashmir valley now. Almost in all upper areas there had been cloud burst in the recent past resulting in loss of life and property. Today again there was Cloud burst at Kathohallan in shopian district.However no loss of life is reported but all the streams flowing through that area have inflated and water is increasing at an alarming rate espically in Nallah lar, Romushi and vishew.Many foot bridges were washed away in flash floods.

Molvi Bashir Ahmad Farooqi, Imam and Khateeb Dargah Hazratbal passed away.He breathed his last in Srinagar today after suffering a cardiac arrest.State government had recently nominated late Mufti Bashir Ahmad Farooqi as member of the J&K Waqf Board.

Protests continue in Jammu over the demand of separate AIIMS for the jammu region.AIIMS Coordination Committee members clashed with police which is deployed in the area to maintain peace. The AIIMS Coordination Committee outrightly rejected the “AIIMS like facilities” announcement made by the government. Bandh call badly affected normal life in Jammu.Business and public transport in Jammu remained paralyzed.
Modi government in the centre had earlier announced AIIMS for Kashmir region while IIMS and IIT were announced for Jammu. In the meanwhile , government announced that the AIIMS like facilities will be given in Jammu also which triggered protests in the region.The AIIMS Coordination Committee is demanding a separate AIIMS for the Jammu region.
Kashmiri Pandit boy had all Muslim Barati’s in Ichgam village of Budgam district
Seven Pandit families still live in Ichigam village in Budgam district. In early 90’s, when majority of Kashmiri Pandits left Kashmir, these people preferred to stay back.On Thursday, Kashmiri Pandit girl Preeti Bhat got married to Ashu who lives in Sheikhpora village in Budgam district. His family migrated from Kashmir in early 90’s but later came to stay in Sheikhpora village.Main attraction of the marriage was participation of majority of Muslims in the Baraat. Even neighbouring Muslim ladies sung wedding songs and danced to the tunes of folk music.Local Muslims offered all kind of help to the family. Rare scenes of communal harmony were witnessed in the village.
Two grenade attacks in Srinagar, mobile communication again targeted
Unknown militants carried out two grenade attacks in Srinagar today . First attack was carried out on the two mobile phone showrooms at main Chowk karan nagar Srinagar . According to details a youth carrying grenades entered the showroom asked the employees to move out . After this twi grenades were hurled in the showrooms causing severe damage to the furniture and other belongings .” I was just passing by on the footpath and heard a loud sinus and people ran here and there said an eyewitness ” . Soon after the blast police and paramilitary forces reached the spot however no arrests could be made as the attackers managed to flee from the spot after the attack . Police were busy in investigating the attack , another blast took place about one kilometre away from the spot . This time the target was a mobile phone tower at shaheed Gung Srinagar . The twin attacks have created fear among the people associated with mobile phone communication . majority of the mobile phone franchises closed down their showrooms in the city due to scare. Although no militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the attacks , it is believed to be handiwork of less known militant outfit ” Laskar-e-Islam ” as the sane outfit has claimed responsibility of attacking mobile phone towers in north and central Kashmir in the recent past . Police have started investigations.

Threatening posters of militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen have surfaced in Karimabad and Chattapora in Pulwama district.Posters written in Urdu language have issued threatening to all educational institutions to impose veil for female students.Also threatening has been issued to all beauty parlors and they have been asked to close down their operations.
