Pampore, Awantipora, Khrew towns to be developed on modern lines

15–Minister of State for Forest, Ecology & Environment, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Mir Zahoor Ahmad Sunday said that Pampore, Khrew and Awantipora towns of Pampore Constituency will be developed on modern and scientific lines and several steps in this direction have been initiated.

Addressing a large public gathering at Awantipora near here today, Mr. Zahoor said that it was the dream of former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to develop Pampore constituency on modern lines as it is the gateway of Srinagar. He said the present Government led by Chief Minister Ms. Mehbooba Mufti is committed for providing good-governance to the people of the State and ensuring all round development of all pockets with the active involvement of common people in the development process.

 Referring to the contribution and historical decisions taken by the former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Mir Zahoor said that he was the legendry leader who had dedicated his whole life for the betterment and welfare of the people of the State of Jammu and Kashmir. He said it was Mufit Sahab who had a vision to make the State of Jammu and Kashmir a model by maintaining cordial relations with the people of all regions.  He said due to his efforts some important institutions including Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) Awantipora, Shri Mata Vishno Devi University (SMVDU) Katra, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri etc. were established during his regime in 2002-2005 which give boost to the economical development of the people in general and particularly in these areas. He said Indo-Pak trade relations, opening of Muzaffar Abad road and peace process were also efforts of Mufti Sahab. He said that the promises made by the Government during Assembly Elections 2014 will be fulfilled.

Listing the developmental works under execution in Pampore Constituency, Mir Zahoor said that an important health institution AIIMS is being established at Awantipora besides Nursing College already been established.

The Minister said directions have already been given to the Roads and Buildings (R&B) department to develop the interior roads of Awantipora including IUST on priority. Responding to the demand for sanctioning relief to flood victims, the Minister said that the issue would be taken up in coming District Development Board meeting of Pulwama to address it.
