From ordinary people to politicians and VIPs thronged the Srinagar residence of the late leader to call on the bereaved family members.
Former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Parliamentarians, Legislators, Chairman, State Accountability Commission and Judges of the J&K High Court were among those who came to offer their condolences.
Mufti Mohammad Sayeed passed away in New Delhi yesterday morning, the third Chief Minister to die in office after Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah and G. M. Sadiq.
As reported earlier, the congregational prayers (Fateha) of late Mufti Sayeed will be offered at Dara Shikov Bagh, Bijbehara, where he is buried, at 11.00 am on January 10. A condolence meeting has also been scheduled at 2.00 pm at Gupkar residence the same day.
From January 7, the day Mufti Mohammad Sayeed passed away in AIIMS at New Delhi, there is no let up in the rush of people at the Fairview residence to pay tributes to the departed leader and meet his family members.
