Senior Softball team from Jammu and Kashmir today met Minister of State for Education, Information and Culture Priya Sethi, here at MAM Stadium
The state team is leaving to attend the 37th senior softball championship at Chandigarh.
While wishing success to the team, Priya Sethi said the sports-persons from the state have showcased their talent at different National and International championships and the state is proud of its sports talent. She called upon the softball team to play with true spirit of sportsmanship, prove their mettle and bring laurel to the state.
“Our government is committed to provide enabling environment for sports so that expert coaching and adequate sports infrastructure is made available to our athletes,” she added.
During the interaction, the sports-persons presented their demands which include deployment of expert Softball coach, proper infrastructure and separate sports quota for women athletes.
Giving patient hearing to the demands, the Minister said the genuine issues of the sportspersons would be taken up with the concerned authorities and assured for early action on the matter.
