Prof Mattoo visits SKIMS Medical College Hospital Bemina

The Advisor to Chief Minister, Prof Amitabh Mattoo today visited SKIMS Medical College and Hospital, Bemina to take stock of the healthcare facilities being provided to the injured.

The advisor was accompanied by Secretary J&K State Sports Council, Mr Waheed-ur-Rehman Para, Principal SKIMS Medical College and Hospital, Bemina, Dr Reyaz Untoo and other officials of the hospital.

The advisor conducted an extensive tour of the wards of the hospital to get first hand information of the medicare facilities being provided to the patients admitted there. He advised the Principal to ensure that the patients do not face any inconvenience for want of medicines, treatment and other related things.

The advisor also asked the authorities to project any additional requirement with regard to medicines, life saving drugs and equipments so that the necessary process can be put in place for procurement of the same.

Prof Mattoo also interacted with the patients of different wards and reiterated the Chief Minister’s commitment to ensure that the requisite facilities are extended to them without any delay. He said that instructions have already been passed to the authorities of health department to ensure that the patients requiring medical help and medicines do not suffer.

He said that the Chief Minister has already directed for putting in place a mechanism in order to ensure that healthcare sector comes up to the expectation of the people especially in these difficult times.

Later, Prof. Mattoo visited some parts of the Srinagar city and interacted with the people in different localities. He assured that the government has already directed the concerned departments to ensure that people get all the required essential items, medicines without facing any hardship.

The Advisor informed the members of the civil society that he had canceled his visit to Melbourne where he wanted to be with his unwell daughter in order to be with the people of the state at this time of tragedy.  He assured the people that the government is always ready for a dialogue with all those who can build sustainable peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
