The 27th Road Safety Week organized by the Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) Poonch in collaboration with District Police concluded here today with the distribution of prizes among winners of symposium on “Road Safety-Time for Action” organized at Government Degree College Poonch here today.
Assistant Commissioner Development, Dr. Basharat Hussain, Principal GDC, Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Tehsildar Haveli, besides several other officers, staff of the college and students were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Assistant Commissioner impressed upon all to imbibe road safety rules as a way of life and see to it that human lives are not lost due to one’s negligent behavior.
While thanking different government departments and schools for their cooperation in observation of 27th Road Safety Week, the ARTO informed that as part of the Road Safety Week, medical camps, awareness programmes for drivers, conductors, transporters, commuters and general public were held in different parts of the district and the MVD and Traffic authorities exhorted all the stakeholders to follow road safety rules in letter and spirit to avoid loss of human lives.
