The Department of Education today organized a seminar on Parental Counseling cum Environmental Building for children with special needs at Government Girls High School Kaloosa in Bandipora.
The seminar held under the centrally-sponsored Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA)/Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) schemes was attended by Principals and Headmasters of various schools, District Coordinator Inclusive Education for Disabled besides a large number of students and parents. Deputy Chief Education Officer Bandipora was the chief guest on the occasion.
The Deputy CEO said that a number of schemes are on the anvil for the welfare of students with special needs, adding that such students must not shy away from coming forward to avail the benefits.
Other speakers including students threw light on the topic, stressing that the specially-abled children can contribute just as well to the society and therefore must be encouraged.
