Speaker releases Dogri poetry collection of Tript

Speaker Assembly, Kavinder Gupta released a Dogri poetry collection “Mere Geet Meriyan Gajalan”

Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta  Saturday released a Dogri poetry collection “Mere Geet Meriyan Gajalan” penned by Rakesh Sharma Tript’ here at a book release  function organised by Nami Dogri Sanstha  .

Congratulating the poet for the release of his poetic collection, the Speaker said that the eminent Dogri writers and poets have made valuable contribution in enriching Dogri literature and promoting it among the youth. He also appreciated the efforts of the Sanstha for reviving the age old traditions and preserving the rich ethos of Dogra culture.

Kavinder said that Dogri has been included in the 8th Schedule but it is more important that the language finds prominence ‘in our homes and educational institutions’.

          “There is a need to promote this language among the younger generation and for that we have to make collective efforts” he added and further stressed on the preservation of rich Dogra culture for the future generations.

Prominent among others present at the function were Chief of Nami Dogri  Sanstha, SS Anand Lehar, president,  Dogra Harish Kaila, Dr. Chanchal Sharma, Anupama Sharma, Yashpal Yash, Ramesh Rahi, Lalit Sharma, Mohan Lal Komal and prominent citizens.

 Earlier, Speaker also inaugurated construction of lane and drain at Gorkha Nagar, Ward no. 48. The work is being executed by the Jammu Municipal Corporation.

People of the area putforth various demands to the speaker which included construction of nallah and the lanes and drains in other parts of the locality.

Responding to the demands of the locals, Speaker assured them that the same would be redressed soon.

           Executive Engineer JMC, Joginder Kumar and other officers were also present on the occasion.
