Speaker visits Bhour Camp, kick-starts of construction of road

Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and MLA Gandhi Nagar, Mr Kavinder Gupta today conducted extensive tour of Bhour Camp, Ward No. 1 and its adjoining areas to take stock of the developmental works.

During his visit, the Speaker kick-started construction 210 MTr road stretch from Government Girls High School to Cremation Ground to be completed at a cost of Rs 3.03 lakh. He asked the R&B Department to complete the work within stipulated time without any compromise on the quality of the material. He also visited various sites to personally assess the progress of ongoing works in the area.

The Speaker said no compromise will be done with the quality of works and people should immediately inform the Government if they see that the quality is not being maintained during the execution of works.

The locals informed the Speaker about their problems including replacement of dilapidated electric poles and wires, repair and upgradation of main lanes and drains, power woes, clean drinking water, health care facilities and proper distribution of K-oil, construction of boundary wall of the school and proper cleanliness of the area.

The Speaker assured them that their genuine demands would be taken up for redress with the concerned quarters.

          Mr Gupta also interacted with the staff and administration of GGHS School, Bhour Camp and received brief about the functioning of the school and the problems confronted by the institution. He stressed upon the school administration to increase enrolment and improve pass-percentage.

Among others, Baldev Singh Bilowria, Balwinder Singh, Dalbir Singh, Pitambar Sharma, Mohan Singh, Dr Happy Singh, Rajinder Singh, Ranjit Singh, and other prominent citizens were also present on the occasion.
