Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi calls for putting Auqaf assets to productive use

MOS Hajj & Auqaf, Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi visits various shrines in Jammu

Minister of State for Hajj and Auqaf, Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi today visited various shrines around Jammu city and took stock of the developmental works and other facilities being provided to the devotees.

Administrator, Auqaf Islamia, Jammu, Wasim Raja Khan, Special Officer, Auqaf, and other senior officers of Hajj & Auqaf Department accompanied the Minister.

The Minister was apprised about the facilities being put in place for the devotees and new infrastructural facilities being developed by the department. Laying stress on improving facilities and overall ambience, the Minister directed the caretakers to ensure proper care of the shrine properties, especially Wuzu Khanas and undertake landscaping of shrine premises.

            The Minister instructed the Auqaf authorities for immediate landscaping of Jinaza Gah and construction of roof on the mausoleum of Sufi saint during his visit to the graveyard at Digiana.

The Minister also paid obeisance at the famous Shrine of Hazrat Baba Budan Ali Shah (RA) at Satwari and was apprised about facilities being offered to the devotees.

The Minister, while inspecting Ziarat Panjpeer Hazrat Baba Sharaf-ud-Din at Tawi Bridge, directed authorities to take up the renovation and beautification of the shrine and instructed the Administrator, Auqaf Islamiya, Jammu, to submit a proposal for construction of concrete bund on Tawi bank to avoid any damage to the shrine during floods. The Minister while visiting Masjid Sharief, directed that immediate repair works be taken up.

Minister asked Auqaf authorities to adopt innovative measures for development of Auqaf assets in a time bound manner to make them self-reliant and revenue generating units.
