As per Yatra registration counter (YRC) Katra, on the first day of Navratra festival 2015, about 37845 yatris visited and paid obeisance of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine while till today evening about 13500 pilgrims have performed darshan of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi.
District administration Reasi in collaboration with Tourism department and SMDSB have ensured all necessary arrangements for the smooth conduct of Navratra festival 2015. ADC Reasi Shiv Kumar Gupta, who was the Nodal officer, Navratra festival 2015 is camping at Katra and monitoring all the arrangements regarding the smooth conduct of the whole festival.
At Katra, yatris/Pilgrims are being provided various discounts on Hotel room accommodation, langers are being organized for the pilgrims at various places in the Katra and enroute to Bhawan by the various organizations and other executing agencies. All kinds of facilities like drinking water, medicare, security etc are being provided by the Administration to the Yatris/pilgrims for the smooth conduct of Yatra.
Different events like cultural programmes, shobha yatra cum cultural procession, religious discourses on Ramayana, plays on Baba Jitto, talent show for blinds, exhibition of departmental stalls etc are being organized during the Navratra festival at Katra.
Frequent market checking is going on by the concerned officers in order to check market price of various commodities.
Show on Baba Jitto would also be held at SMVDU on Oct 18 and at Spiritual growth centre Katra on 20 Oct, 3 pm. Cultural programme and awareness rallies would also be taken out by the school children during the festival.
