The Advisor to the Governor, Mr. Khurshid Ahmad Ganai has said that the Government has already initiated necessary steps to preserve, promote and propagate the rich cultural traditions of the State.
The Advisor was speaking at a function organized by Radio Mouj Kasheer at Abhinav Theatre in connection with the celebration of birth anniversary of Late Vijay Mala, one of the prominent singers of Kashmir.
Chief Vigilance Commissioner, J&K Mr. Kuldeep Khoda, Bollywood Actors and Producers, Ms Preeti Saproo, Mr. Tej Saproo, prominent intellectuals, writers, poets, educationists and artists were present on the occasion.
Mr. Khurshid while highlighting the rich cultural traditions of the State said that the onus lies on the artists to preserve and popularise state’s rich culture and ethos specially among the younger generation. He said that the Government is also doing its bit about the same but the intellectuals and writers should also come forward and strengthen the endeavours taken for promoting the rich heritage and cultural traditions of the State.
While complementing the Organizers for organizing these types of functions, the Advisor said that they provide a platform to younger generation to know about their peers and also get an opportunity to exhibit their artistic talents.
The Advisor while paying tributes to the late singer said that Shri Vijay Mala had created a niche for himself in the field of music which would be remembered for generations to come. He said we should take adequate steps for creating necessary awareness about this legendry signer among younger generation.
The Advisor and the CVC released an album titled ’Safar’ sung by the Late Singer and also felicitated various dignitaries on the occasion.
