Basharat Bukhari Called on Najma Heptulla in Srinagar

Minister for Law, Justice, Parliamentary Affairs, Relief and Rehabilitation, Syed Basharat Bukhari Monday called on the Union Minister for Minority Affairs, Najma Heptulla, here. 

Mr. Bukhari apprised the Union Minister on matters related to relief and rehabilitation of flood victims. He highlighted issues regarding financial reprieve to business units that suffered damage during September 2014 floods. 

During their meeting, Law Minister urged the Union Minister to consider the proposal of loan waiver submitted to centre, for those business units that were financed under Term Loan Scheme of National Minorities Development Finance Corporation (NMDFC), and had suffered either full or partial damage during last year’s deluge. He said that these business units having suffered immense damage during the floods were facing difficulty in repaying the loans. 

Pertinently under Term Loan Scheme for Minorities, soft loan is extended to youth for establishment of income generating business units, and is implemented through JKEDI and JKWDC, in the State. 

Najma Heptullah assured the Law Minister that her Ministry will try to work out the details in the matter.

Secretary, Union Ministry of Minority Affairs, Mr. Arvind Mayaram, Joint Secretary, Union Ministry of Minority Affairs, Secretary Social Welfare, Sanjeev Varma, Director JKEDI, Managing Director, JKWDC besides other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
