Pakistani terrorist captured alive in Kupwara

A Pakistani terrorist captured alive on Tuesday during an encounter in Kashmir has admitted that he is from Pakistan and was sent to India for subversive activities. He has  been identified as Bahadur Ali, a resident of Pakistan’s Lahore. Four other Lashkar terrorists were killed in the gunbattle near Nowgam sector in Kupwara district.

Bahadur Ali, alias Saifullah, is 22 years old and is a trained Lashkar terrorist, sources said. The security forces recovered Rs. 23,000 in Indian currency from him, apart from three AK-47 rifles and two pistols.

This was the second time in two months a Pakistani terrorist has been captured alive in the frontier district. “It is a big achievement to catch a terrorist alive. The truth of Pakistan will come to the fore,” said Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju.

The encounter, officials said, only proves how Pakistan has been taking advantage of the civilian unrest in the Valley.

Life, however, is yet to return to normal in Kashmir despite the lifting curfew and the separatists calling off their lockdown for half day on Tuesday.

But Very few shops opened as protests broke out in parts of the city and several people were injured in the clashes that followed.

“We tried our level best to open our shops. But unfortunately some incident took place at the nearby Hari Singh High Street,” said Feroz Ahmad, a shopkeeper in Lal Chowk.

The Valley had been witnessing protests since the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani on July 8. So far, 47 people have been killed in security forces firing and more than 2,500 have been injured in the clashes between the people and the security forces.
