Chief Secretary, B R Sharma Tuesday reviewed the construction of Srinagar-Jammu National Highway in a meeting, he chaired here.
Chief Secretary received brief on the action taken with respect to the directions given in the previous review meeting held on 22nd September 2015 on the matter.
With substantial progress reported in addressing the issues impeding the fast track completion of the project, Chief Secretary stressed on immediate disposal of few remaining land acquisition and compensation cases besides certain structure that need to be removed to pave way for unhindered construction of the National Highway.
Fresh timelines were fixed for Deputy Commissioners, Revenue department, NHAI and concessionaires with respect to clearing the remaining cases and bottlenecks.
“Take immediate action to expedite and clear all cases impeding the construction of the road” Chief Secretary told the concerned officers adding that further progress shall again be reviewed in the last week of November.
Principal Secretary Home, Commissioner Secretary Relief & Rehabilitation, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Jammu, Commissioner Secretary R&B, Secretary Revenue, Deputy Commissioners of Udhampur, Ramban, Srinagar, Pulwama and Anantnag, Project Directors NHAI Srinagar, Jammu, Director CSS, Chief Engineers R&B, representatives of Union Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, representatives of concessionaires Ramky, Navyug etc and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
